When in doubt wear denim

Style gurus are singing a simple tune this Spring, and it goes like this: When in doubt, wear denim.

Every woman’s wardrobe needs at least one pair of great-fitting jeans. Denim is versatile; denim goes anywhere, and denim invites innovation. A pair of beautiful jeans can be the cornerstone of a number of stunning outfits—dressed up or dressed down—to suit almost any occasion.

The comfortable fit of new millennium jeans makes them easy to wear. Denim today bears little resemblance to stiff traditional indigo jeans of the past. The addition of Lycra improves how jeans flatter a woman’s curves, and it adds just enough ease to rival your favourite athleisure leggings.

For Spring, take your pick of a wide range of traditional jean rinses, and au courant colours, including khaki, grey, black, white and sand. Keep your eye on the season’s wilder fabric finishes: rips, embroidery, sequins and prints. Watch for the nifty step-down hem and contrasting tuxedo side stripe. Don’t overlook the return of denim in skirts, dresses, shirts and jackets.

Few things are as classic and versatile as denim. Fashion seasons may come and go, but denim continues to find relevancy every year and for every generation. And we all know that great denim only improves with age.
